This Recipe is a hit with kids and adults, and a great (and much healthier) alternative to Ice Cream!
Not only is it delicious, but it is also super easy to make and everyone can pick their favorite toppings. Watch the video below for a step by step guide:
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Large Bananas- as many as you'd like to make at once
Dark Chocolate- I already buy the Ghirardelli Melting Wafers to make it even easier, but you can use any dark chocolate you'd like.
Skewers or Popsicles Sticks
Your Favorite Toppings! I use shredded coconut, granola and rainbow sprinkles.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the bananas in half (so each banana will make 2 "popsicles"), and add a skewers to each piece. Place the banana popsicles on the lined baking sheet and put them in the freezer for 1 hour. I usually do this step one day and then finish everything the next day so I am not waiting around.
Once the bananas are fully frozen, melt your dark chocolate. You can do this in the microwave by placing the dark chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwaving for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the chocolate. Then place it back in the microwave for another 10 seconds. Repeat the process until the chocolate is fully melted.
Dip each frozen banana popsicle on the melted chocolate and instantly add/sprinkle your favorite topping. The dark chocolate will start hardening so you must add your toppings quickly.
You can eat them right away, or you can place them back on the lined baking sheet and put them in the freezer.
Once they are fully frozen I recommend storing them in a sealed container or ziplock.
